About the event

A Warm Welcome on Thursdays @ the Chantry Centre

The Chantry Centre is proud to be part of a network of venues offering a warm welcome to the local community this winter. The Chantry Centre will be opening its doors every Thursday from 3rd November between 10am-7pm.

All are welcome – whether you want to just sit and relax with a cuppa and a book quietly on your own, make some new friends, join in activities, volunteer or to seek advice.

Free hot drinks will be available all day as well as light lunches (soups/toasted sandwiches) and suppers for £1. You are welcome to use our free Wifi or charge your phone.

For those with young children, we are planning to restart our popular bouncy castle and soft play session 10.30am-12.30pm in the Lister Hall. The cost will be £2 per child and this will include lunch for both the child and their carer.

For the grown-ups, a selection of current magazines and board games will be available. Every afternoon we will be showing a classic film in the Centenary Lounge. If you are feeling more energetic, table tennis, table football and our skittle alley will be available.

The Chantry Centre is a vibrant hub at the heart of Dursley, providing a home for a wide variety of local groups, the Dursley Food Bank, community events and volunteers.

A massive thank you to our community of volunteers, hirers and Friends of the Chantry Centre, without whom we wouldn’t be able to operate.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to get involved then join our friendly community of volunteers, a bunch of really lovely people at the heart of the Chantry Centre. Whatever you enjoy doing we can find a role for you, whether it’s gardening, tidying, running activities, serving food and drinks, or just being a friendly face to welcome people to the Centre. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer then get in touch via www.chantrycentre.org or come and visit us on one of our Warm Welcome Thursdays.

We all look forward to welcoming more members of our Dursley and Cam community to the Chantry Centre, pop in and see us on Thursdays and say hello! #WarmGL11
